The “L”

The L is based on the many models made in Kalamazoo of the “Big Body” starting in 1929 and continuing up to the Banner era, most notably the L-00. This pattern was also the basis for the L-0, L-1, L-2, Nick Lucas Special, and L-Century models. The Minerva “L” is heavily influenced by my personal 1930 Kel Kroydon and 1931 L-1 guitars; lightly built 12 fret models. They are some of the best fingerstyle guitars out there. If you need a guitar that can stand up to a heavier attack, you can also opt for the slightly stouter bracing ca. 1933. The “L” is one of the biggest sounding “small” guitar patterns and certainly one of the prettiest.
